News, omens, portents, candlepins
Nope, I'm still not using this Radio weblog regularly... too many other things that I'm not writing or reading and should be... But I'll celebrate with a quick entry because:
1. I have some news: There is already a
bostonblogs local "user group" for weblogs, something that was recently suggested to me by the only person who (as far as I know) has ever read this prototype log of mine. Maybe he's already involved and didn't mention it.
In any case, the group even goes bowling in my neighborhood! I didn't know about it until one weblog rolled me into another (subtle candlepin joke there)...
2. Yesterday I finished a project that I'll actually be paid for, and even turned it in before deadline -- a step in the right direction, given my backlog of things. In fact, I also posted a project that I'm not getting paid for, but it may help some of my students find a paycheck. It's also linked to the top of my home page.
3. Last night I found out that an editor I freelanced for regularly 10 years ago is becoming editor-in-chief of a national magazine. Go Harry!
4. Today I have a nice hand-written note in the mail from a hypertext guru inviting me to lunch. I hope to write about (and with) his software later this summer and work it into my research and teaching in September... which, unfortunately, reminds me of twelve items on that to-do list, and I promised I'd get out for a walk before sunset.
So I will...
