podfolk
a podcast... and weblog section for folk music and online folklore (see the weblog front page for Bob's "Other Journalism")... and, no, this isn't about "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," unless as pod-folklore.

Strange sounds from the next office or cubicle? This could start a dangerous trend:

Apple points out that its latest iTunes can store lyrics along with recorded songs, while a couple of add-ons through the OS-X Dashboard, pearLyrics and SingPod, search the Web's lyric collections for the words lonely Mac users need if they want to sing along.

For those of us who can pull away from the keyboard now and then, pearLyrics also finds guitar chords.

For folksongs, I wonder if these OS-X "widgets" find the Digital Tradition database at the Mudcat Cafe.

This has no sound attached, and it isn't a journalism item for my usual blog, but I had to save it here so that I can find it later, especially if I ever get this podcast going. So far, I just don't have the time.
