Time to Read or to Write? Making the News: Draft of Chapter 5, an installment of Dan Gillmor's upcoming book, "Making the News" is the latest thing on my ever-growing "to-read" list... which is taking a back seat to my "to-write" list. In fact, between now and Bloggercon at Harvard where everyone will be a journalist,  I'll be writing more off-line than in this weblog in the coming weeks. The withdrawal process also will include installing a new computer and then jumping about between Windows XP and  Macintosh OS-X, maybe with a bit of Linux for good measure. Among other things, I'll be invoking the ghost of Samuel Johnson as I attempt to be less of a bloghead. (I won't even take time to search the Web to see how many people have made that pun before me.) Meanwhile, I'll be experimenting with RSS aggregators on all of my computers to see if they can actually help me get more useful information without drowning in data. I notice, for instance, that NetNewsWire now supports the Atom feed from my old Boblog, which may or may not be a sign that there's hope for integration in the syndication world. 2:38:09 AM
