Reporting, Interviewing and Broadcast News Links
I mentioned in my weblog a few days ago that the CBS "memogate" fiasco could be used
as a "bad example" for classroom discussion. Now I've stumbled on a
Poynter Institute essay that does
just that.
Meanwhile, while exploring the "On the Media" website because of its
new podcast, I found a transcript of this earlier story, Pulling
Back the Curtain on NPR radio news editing, for all of us who
wish we spoke as clearly as NPR interviewers and guests... as well as an earlier Neal
Conan presentation on "The
Art of the Interviwe."
On a related topic, a Canadian reporter experimenting
with communal
audio news editing...
And, for eventual use in class, here are pages with links
about Reporting
& Interviewing Techniques, including New York Times tips
for young journalists.
