US State Department News Feed

Demonstrating a new public relations (or propaganda) tool:
The U.S. State Department offers more than a dozen RSS Feeds with titles like "Democracy Top Stories," "Human Rights Top Stories" and "Western Hemisphere Top Stories." The "Washington File Top Stories" column, presumably "top of the top," comes complete with a Javascript that will put a box of official government headlines on your page, like this:
Those headlines will change whenever some public information person in Washington adds a story to the collection, so this page can't provide "fair and balanced" fact-checking or ironic commentary in a parallel column (on the left or right).  However,  for some other views of the current state of U.S. foreign relations, see the links in this Christopher Lydon column, The Issue is Empire.
