Resources for reporters
...and other online searchersGoal: Finding the Top 1,000 Boston Reporters' Links
I hope this gradually-getting-organized collection of links will be useful for students, journalists and news researchers working in Massachusetts and elsewhere. The long "for news beats" section (more than 30 pages) starts with Massachusetts state government, then focuses on Greater Boston before getting to a collection of "topic" beats, such as business, health, etc.
The "big lists" are link collections from dozens of journalism schools and organizations. Other headings are self-explanatory. Within the major topics there are 90 subtopics. (Netscape may do a better job of using indentation to show the relationship of topics and subtopics, the result of using a bookmarking-program to create this list.)In addition to these reporting links, I have separate collections for online journalism (including a news site list and online publishing issues), and for writing, editing and related journalism topics. At the time this list was posted, the most recent addition was a journalism job-hunting section.
Pardon the mess. If you are looking for a particular site or topic on this "reporting" page, try searching for a key word or two with the Apple-F or Control-F "find" command in your Web browser.
